The Sadie and Harry Davis Foundation was established through the will of Sadie Davis, who died in 2005. Its mission is to advance the health of Maine’s children, the life-long pursuit of Mrs. Davis’ husband, Dr. Harry E. Davis, a Portland pediatrician for over 40 years.
In 2006, after receiving advice from a distinguished group of Maine’s medical, dental and public health leaders over an 18-month period, the Foundation’s trustees decided to focus the majority of the Foundation’s resources on improving Maine children’s oral health.
